AFGRI, a leading agricultural services company which is celebrating 100 years since its founding in 1923, has confirmed its commitment to the Africa Agri Tech Conference and Exhibition, which takes place at the SunBet Arena, Menlyn Maine, Pretoria, from 14 – 16 March.
“We are at an inflection point of data, technology, agriculture and biology, all coming together as one,” commented Norman Celliers, Executive Director and CEO of AFGRI Group Holdings, when announcing his organisation’s support for the important three-day conference, which is dedicated to connecting Southern African agricultural, scientific, and technology communities at one event, by exploring both local and global trends and advances.
“Our positioning as an organisation is ‘AFGRI – your partner in agribusiness’, and, if we want to remain loyal to that tagline, we need to embrace technology. We look forward to being present at Africa Agri Tech, not only as a main sponsor, but also to represent ourselves and to be able to engage with our customers and stakeholders. We want to use the opportunity to build our partnerships and relationships,” explained Celliers.
AFGRI is not only a leading agricultural services company, but also an active partner in agriculture, providing services across the entire grain production and storage cycle. The company offers financial support and solutions as well as inputs and high-tech equipment, supported by a large retail footprint.
The company has a passion for the development of people, especially new era farmers. This passion is carried through by the Lemang Agricultural Services training programme, which was established in 2012 as a means of developing strong future farmers.
“Our vision is to unlock agricultural potential, not only in South Africa, but also in Africa, thereby ensuring successful partnerships across the entire continent. We already have comprehensive and intimate knowledge of agriculture in South Africa and the region,” added Celliers.
“We are extremely pleased to have AFGRI as one of our main sponsors as it is a forward-looking organisation, very much in-step with the aims and objectives of the Africa Agric Tech Conference and Exhibition,” commented Anlie Hattingh the event spokesperson.
“The three day event in Pretoria aims to deliver premium insights, coupled with best-in-class presenters and suppliers. Africa Agri Tech will be co-located with an Innovation Challenge, Start-up pitches, a foreign trade lounge and a hybrid event offering, as well as as the establishment of South Africa’s inaugural Agriculture Hall of Fame,” concluded Hattingh.
